SHOE ORDERS/ENQUIRIES     (Please note that we only send shoes within GB)

As you know, there can be quite a variation in fit between different styles of shoes. We would therefore recommend, if at all possible, that you visit the shop to try the shoes on - phoning us first to check that we have your size/style/sale item in stock. We will then reserve the shoes for you. Please remember not to come on a Wednesday afternoon (half day closing) or Sunday. Opening times may vary over the festive season. There is also an annual week's break in February when the shop closes.

However, if you are unable to travel to our shop to try on the shoes, please do phone for advice or to ask us to send them out by post (GB only). We regret that we no longer have an online order facility. Please also note that we are unable to send shoes overseas.

Fit

For those of you who do not already know, here is a rough guide of fit for ladies' shoes. First of all Width:-

AA = extra slim fit    B = slim fit (sometimes with AA heel, e.g. Nil Simile shoes - Sorry, no longer in stock)

C = a bit slimmer than standard fit    D = standard or average fit (most shoes without a stated fitting are D or D/E)

E = a bit wider than standard    EE = wide/extra wide    EEE + EEEE = really wide and roomy (good for swollen feet)

Next comes Length... You need to stand for this, so that your arches flatten into their natural standing position. Then, standing with your most of your weight on one leg and your foot held snugly back into the heel, make sure that there is a good centimetre (approx. half inch) of free space or 'wiggle room', at the front of the shoe beyond your toes. If you can't reach that far, please ask someone to help. Crushed toes can lead to bruising, bunions and in-growing toenails. Width-wise, new shoes should be snug but not tight. (They may 'give' a little width-wise but are unable to lengthen). Your existing shoes will give you a guide to length but with shoes made all round the world, there can be variations between style and manufacturer. Most of our shoes are sold in either UK or continental sizes, a few also in American sizes. For ladies' American sizes, just add on two, e.g. UK 6 = US 8. Here is a rough translation of UK/continental sizes for ladies and gents shoes:-

UK 3 = 36    UK 4 = 37    UK 5 = 38    UK 6 = 39    UK 6½ = 40    UK 7 = 41    UK 8 = 42

UK 9 = 43    UK 9½ = 44    UK 10¼ = 45    UK 11 = 46    UK 12 = 47

Price

All footwear prices quoted on this website and in our shop include 20.0% VAT with the exception of certain VAT- exempt items (e.g. steel toe-cap boots and walking boots/shoes for youths/girls).

Postage (Postal Services provided by the Post Office are exempt from VAT)

* Please note that we only send shoes within GB

All footwear is sent by Royal Mail second class post. There is a charge of an extra £1.00 for upgrade to first class. If required, please request this at time of order. Currently, most shoe box sized parcels (max. 45 x 35 x 16 cm) are classified as 'small parcels'. 'Medium parcels' have larger dimensions. In addition, parcels are priced according to weight. To make things simpler, we have three categories of postage:-

Small parcels under 2 kg (the majority of everyday shoes and slippers, as well as many boots)

    * POSTAGE FREE - Per individual pair of full-priced shoes over £49.00 (excludes all sale shoes, long boots, larger and heavier items listed below.  Please note that 'postage free' refers to qualifying individual items and not the total combined order).

    * £3.00 - Per pair of shoes under £49.00 or per pair of Sale shoes (excludes larger/heavier items listed below).

Medium sized parcels up to 2 kg (this includes long boots and certain heavier footwear).

    * £6.00 - Per pair of long or extra heavy footwear under 2 kg.

 Notes

    * Parcels over 2 kg (very little in this category). Please phone for advice.

    * Please note that we reserve the right to send orders for two or more pairs in more than one parcel.

    * Unfortunately, due to weight, we can no longer send out extra heavy items, such as Wellingtons, work boots and chainsaw boots.

    * Please note that we only send shoes within GB

Delivery Times

We try to process and send most goods within 24 to 48 hours, if in stock. At weekends, local and public holidays and at exceptionally busy periods, there may be an extra two or three days delay. We will advise you if the shop is closed for annual holidays or any other reason. Please allow up to ten days for delivery.

N.B. If the items are required urgently, please let us know. We can arrange to send the goods first class for an extra £1 postage (shoes only). After that, it is in the hands of the post office!

Payment

Payment is required in advance. Please either phone us with Credit or Debit card details or send a cheque or postal order payable to 'Bryce of Crieff'. In order to process your order, we require the full card number, expiry date, issue date or number, last three numbers on the back of the card and your full home address, including house number and postcode. For your own security, please do not send Credit Card details via ordinary E-mail.

Returns

In the unfortunate event that the shoes do not fit or are not suitable, please would you let us know within seven days and then simply return the items in their original packaging by Royal Mail/parcel post along with your Invoice for a full refund. If payment was originally made by card, please supply details so that you can be credited. Please note that return postage is normally at your own expense. This does not affect your statutory rights.

N.B. Please try all footwear indoors and preferably on a carpet initially. Once it has been worn outdoors, the footwear can only be returned if faulty. We can also only refund/exchange goods that have been purchased from or through our shop. Footwear bought elsewhere must be returned to the original vendor.

Data Protection and Privacy (General Data Protection Regulation, 25 May 2018)

Please note that we respect your right to data protection and privacy and undertake to keep all your personal details confidential. Your name, address and phone number are usually taken over the phone but, if you prefer, you may send these via E-mail or post.

Any contact by us (phone, E-mail or letter) will only be in connection with your order or by specific request from you, e.g. to let you know about the availability of a particular item. We do not participate in unwanted mail shots, E-mails or phone calls. On rare occasions, if we are out of stock of a certain item and, only with your permission, we might request a shoe company to send shoes direct to you, which would involve contact with a third party.

PAYMENT: Please note that we do not take or hold card details on the website or in any other electronic form. Credit/debit card details are normally taken over the phone, once stock availability has been confirmed, but cards are not debited until the footwear is ready for despatch. (For your own security, please do not send card details via E-mail). Once the transaction is completed, the security code is shredded, which prevents any further payments being taken. In case a refund is required, the rest of your card details are securely stored and these are then shredded after a couple of months.

Along with your goods, we send you an Invoice along with receipt(s) for payment. We keep a back-up paper copy for ourselves as a record. We also keep a copy on our office database, which makes it easier to check your details, should you need to re-order. We do not put any card details on the database.

If you have any further questions about how your personal data is stored, please feel free to contact us (Contact Details above).

Final comment

Due to the wide variation in fit of footwear, we would again encourage you, unless you have had a particular style before, to visit our shop and try on as many pairs as you would like - free of charge! That way, you can ensure as near a perfect fit as possible. Perthshire is a beautiful county, set in the heart of Scotland, and a day out or short break in or around Crieff, could fairly put a spring in your step! Please do not come on a Wednesday afternoon, though, or a Sunday, as we shall be closed. Please also check the Home Page for details of any local, public or shop holidays. We look forward to seeing you soon!
